Pro: It’s a cheap Defender.
Con: It’s a cheap Defender.
Body is beat up enough that if a branch scraped it on a trail I would not cry over it,
Comfort seating.
N/A 2.5L Diesel, the power be adequate.
I’m assuming that’s the top speed and/or HP rating.
I’m be curious about its story, & how it got here. I also take it to a land rover dealer for kicks. I’m assuming it’s military spec with sliding windows sparse options.

It’s the only Defender that’s 4 digits in price on Kijiji, all the others are $40k+.

but the next cheapest one is $40k more, so either the dealer wants it gone or it has a major issue.

Do it.

Yeah it is as cheap as they come, you can always do the Isuzu diesel swap kit if it ever died. Just coat the whole thing in military paint.

Definitely military, since it has a NSN number (NATO Stock Number)

Go for it, how bad can it be?
If the body’s that bad, the chassis is probably f*cked, but a new chassis is only about $3k and a few weekends work. And crap LR mechanicals are basically indistinguishable from new LR mechanicals, so you’re no worse off than if you bought an expensive one.

Check for rust... If there’s not a lot, buy it. Easy...

Looks like an Ex-MOD Defender. Do some research. That is a GREAT price, I can’t see any rust in the typical areas in photos, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t any.

Most of the issues with the older Defenders have to do with the V8. Which this one is not, so rust permitting, go for it.

No idea, but that one is definitely ex-military.

I think it’s a fantastic idea and you’ll regret not doing it.
