So I’m considering going for an A/T tire on the Galant. Right now it has Cooper snow tires in the stock 195/60/15 size. The smallest A/T that isn’t a highway tire is a 225/70/15 General Grabber AT2. Cooper A/T3s are also available in this size. Doesn’t any one know of other small A/Ts or smaller ones?
The Grabbers would about an inch wider and 3 inches taller than stock. I’ll have to figure out is it’ll fit without a lift. There’s always subframe spacers. Or else I’ll need to look into a real lift.

Because my car is AWD and I love driving on anything but a paved road.

Looks like that would actually be taller over all. I’m not too worried about width. But I’m worried an extra 1.5 inches of sidewalk would be too much.

How about a cheap winter tire for extra weirdness?

I don’t really want width. Mostly I want to get something that will grab in dirt and mud, but also not get completely torn up on payment in the summer.

Are you questioning someone’s desire to put mud tires on their car?
Get out.

Grabbers have long been the favourite for dirty subarus because they make smaller sizes 205/75r15, sometimes the Yoko AT-S 215/75r15 fits, and the BFG K02 are available in 215/75r15 but they used to make the og AT in smaller sizes.
Don’t rule out the Winterforces, they are another common tire in the rallyx scene because they are cheap and easy to replace.

I have snows right now, and they are pretty good in the dirt. The main reason I’m thinking of going to an A/T is for a stiffer sidewall.

That is true. But most people who have winter tires also have a summer tire, my summers will just be all terrains lol.
Actually I just did some messurind and found the the front spring mount will be in the way. So if I wanted to do this I would need to either get coilovers(too expensive) or get some crazy low offset wheels. You can see in the pic that there is only about an inch of space between tire an suspension.
