Make me wish my car was white. Kind of.

I wish mine was anything other than silver.

Blue is the correct color for a BMW coupe, so sayeth I, a fellow driver of a blue BMW coupe.
Now just get some bumper plugs so you can ditch that front plate. I have some, they basically look like a couple of parking sensors.
(They’re the two little nubbins below the kidney grilles.)

OMG yes. I hate my front plate. Once it’s not a daily anymore that is the first thing to go. I’m also jealous that yours looks like a menacing speed machine, and mine looks like some goofy teenager.

I had a 135is before my 335xi. I leased it from new and the dealer here in Madison kindly refrains from attaching a front plate until someone buys a car, and gives you the option to leave it off, so you can have a totally unmolested front bumper if you want.
The 1er is a bit narrow and pug-nosed. The black kidney grille slats on the -is help minimize that effect some. I think about possibly doing the same thing to my 335xi grille, keep the chrome rings but black out the slats.
The 1er looks better with nice wheels and a drop. Mine, being a lease, was stock M Sport suspension. My 335xi suspension is all tweaked and has 19s with somewhat aggressive offsets, and the rears are 19x9.5" with 275/35-19 tires so they give that steamroller look. I had to roll the rear fenders to get them to clear even with -2 degrees of camber.
You could also get some spacers for the rear wheels to make them sit more flush with the flared rear fenders to seem more filled out.
There are a couple tricks to getting good shots of the 1er. Shoot from angles more off to the side and not using a wide angle lens, because the wide angle lens tends to exaggerate the perspective of the front being bulbous. If you’re using a phone and can’t change to a less-wide lens, you can at least step back a bit and crop the photo so the front is less exaggerated. The closer you get to it the more the front seems like it’s bulging towards the camera.

Yea I plan on getting a set of 264s from the forums and running 245 square. Just need the M3 control arms. Hopefully that will make it look a bit more muscular, a little more width to balance it out, but I won have to drop 1200 on a set of wheels with these stupid offsets lol.
Great point with the grills being black. the reflection on the chrome makes it look like it more pointy than it is.
That, and once I get the exhaust sorted it’ll sound mean enough.

Bad ass. Pulled my grills out and just painted them, and used my quality work hours to look for lips. Haven’t decided yet though. Found this cheap option, http://m.ebay.com/itm/371708063537
Not sold yet. But I guarantee I will scuff this thing up so I’m avoiding the big money carbon stuff lol.
