I got into an argument with someone on Gawker who thought it was perfectly acceptable for this type of behavior. Their assumption was they shouldn’t have to drive around for 20 minutes looking for a spot to park and just stuffing their car somewhere was okay to save time. Even if it meant hitting the other car.

I’m still pissed.

Nah, it was in an area where there is definitely no cameras. Not to mention that I didn’t notice it for three days because it’s on the passenger side and my car was in the garage all weekend. Insurance does cover it though, so that’s nice.

Lol, sounds like you were fighting the good fight. I am with you for sure. I know that some areas that only have street parking are like the wild west of shit-boxes, so the people that drive them don’t really care about a mutual ding so they can sandwich their can between a 1994 Explorer with the clear coat peeling and 2006 Honda Fit.

On a more positive note, is the 2.0 adequate for the A6? I generally like it in A4 sized packages. Is the 3.0 a better option?

It’s actually an A5, but I have APR stage 2 and high flow cat. She moves pretty good and still gets 35 mpg on the highway. My butt dyno says that I shaved maybe a second or so off the 0-60 time with those things done, but then again, it’s been known to talk shit. :)

Man that sucks. This is one of the reasons why I prefer to own a cheap/used car.

My last two cars got written off by people not paying attention.

In one case, a lady went through a red light and right into the side of my car. In another case, my car was parked on the street and a lady smashed into the car parked behind me, which was pushed into my car, which pushed my car into the car parked in front of me.

Kinja'd!!!

That shit’s savage! How can a civilized human being do this and take off without being haunted by it for the rest of its life?

That being said, try rubbing it with some old socks or whatever and some scratch removal paste.

Looks like there’s some dent in the rear wing as well, but it will get rid of the scratches until you figure out what to do about the rest.

Kinja'd!!!

See the white on the side skirt? I managed to hit a rock the first week I owned that car.

Kinja'd!!!

White scratches don’t look good on dark paint.

Kinja'd!!!

This was only a quick try. And I will properly adress this tomorrow, but you can see that this stuff gets rid of the white quite well.

Polish the fuck out of it just to have a normal looking car again until you figure out what to do about about that rear light and the small dents. You are not causing any more damage and it helps with mental health.

Speaking of parallel parking, I apparently witnessed a voodoo master while I was at work. There was a fusion sedan that was wedged into a spot with maybe 2 inches on each side. And there wasn’t a scratch on any bumper either. I know the fusion got there last because he was sitting out a little further than the other cars. I should have taken a picture. It was damn impressive.

Wow, that’s terrible. Sorry to see this.

Just noticed that someone must have backed into the front of my M5 recently (probably while street-parked in Chicago one of the various weekends I was in the city in the last month) and left a bit of a crease. Not really visible unless you know it’s there, but still. What’s worse is that I’ve been in the car with people who have done this, and they don’t even care. “That’s just city driving, man” - no, that’s *shitty* driving...and you’re ruining someone else’s property, as well as your own. Apathy is going to destroy us as a society.

It’s Gawker, what do you expect? They all think the government owes them free college, free healthcare, free retirement, and protection from anything that makes them feel icky inside. The place is lousy with people who have no respect for themselves and by extension, other people and their property. After all man, it’s not fair that you get to drive a nicer car....

I’d love to be able to just “buff” it out, but it’s just too screwed up. There are literally gouges taken out of the metal around the damn brake light. Even if I fudged it and used touch up paint all over the place, it wouldn’t matter. There are digs in the plastic and the scratches go down into the metal, not to mention it looks like the whole damn quarter panel got knocked out of whack. This is definitely an insurance deal. Luckily I have a low deductible. :)

P.S. nice 5'er wagon! Always liked those.
