How come Canada got a low fluid indicator on their 2003 Odysseys but I didn’t?

The metric system, probably.

Because simply driving in Canada will sap and impurify your precious Odyssey fluids.

I’m guessing it’s legally required in Canada and not in the US, and Honda can save $0.42 per car by not installing it in the US models.

If it’s anywhere near as garbage as the one in my Town Car, you’re lucky. I like living life on the edge, so I eventually just had my mechanic disconnect the dash light rather than deal with trying to track down the problem with the reservoir float again.

Joke’s on them, that shit is frozen solid 10 months of the year. Advantage: USA.

So the Canadian version won’t let you check to see where the level is? All you get is a warning when it’s already low?

Canadians don’t know how to check fluid reservoirs. They have the same feature on milk jugs.

No, my 2010 sx4 did not have an indicator.

Canadians asked nicely.

Honda probably doesn’t want Canadians to even pop the hood. Er, bonnet. Or whatever.
Loonies.

My foolproof method of knowing when to add fluid is to wait for the sprayer to start shooting blanks.

My car gives me a message on the information display and a tone.

My old Golf did the same. I imagine the cost savings of eliminating it in all the cars sold in a certain country is not insignificant.

Probably a difference between the MPH cluster and the KPH cluster.

If you don’t have a light to rely on, you can’t sue if it doesn’t work and you kill a family while eating a cheeseburger at 95 mph, talking on your cell, changing the radio station, tattooing an eagle on your chest, and loading your guns. It’s the lights fault for not telling you you were out of fluid.
Now you sue them for not having a light instead!
