The past month has been very good and enjoyable to read! Ken Saito does awesome articles, the “practical enthusiast” series is interesting too, David Tracy’s trip coming closer and closer to its apogee, is really culminating in awesomness and all that with a good mix of random stuff, daily automotive and military news... I was even given the green card by Patrick for a possible series that will be tested out in a few weeks.
It seems like Alexa even agrees with me as their ranking is climbing back up with their budget! !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
I can only hope it lasts!

The content on Jalopnik has been really good! I just wish Kinja would stop raining on that parade.

I feel like there is now enough people on board providing content that no one is stressed out trying to provide the same volume of work with 1/3 of the writers. For a while there it seemed like there were only 6 authors trying to crank out 15-40 articles a week. I grew a ton of respect for everyone during that time for working that hard for so long not knowing if they’d have a job the next week, and having Oppo, FP, and their new bosses being hyper-critical of their every phrase.
Jalopnik staff can get it!!

Oh my, those automatically opened articles after the comments.... Who the hell thought of something like that???

It’s you. Every other post is sponsored or an ad, FA is shit, about the only good ones are DT articles. I can see some promise, but that’s all it is right now.

I dunno. It’s really hard to keep from accidentally opening another post when I want to read comments. Believe me, if I want to read the next post, there’s a good chance that I already read it , or I already have it open in another tab . This “Infinite Scroll” is redundant at best, and annoying at worst. And the lords of Kinja call it a “feature”, like they’re so proud of it.

Also with longer posts I have to click something like view more of this post. I don’t want that.

Yeah, that’s weird. I first noticed it on an io9 article, and it seemed to line up with the “spoiler warning” banner, which I thought was a great feature. But then I started seeing in on other posts, where it had nothing to do with hiding spoilers, so I don’t know why it exists.

They are starting to re-invest in original content, producing good stuff at least once a day. Give it time, but it’s really pretty good... As for the sponsored content, it’s always been like that with Gawker so not really spomething we can do much about unfortunately...

There is more old car content, so at least there is that.

Plus you’re able to block the sponsored content. I really do wish all the income to Jalopnik but sometimes it’s just too much sponsored crap. Totally uninteresting products too, usually.

Given the success and scale of the europpomeet 2 weeks ago I’ll try to get a Jalopnik author to attend the next one. I bet they’ll love it and there must be plenty of things to write about.

Sure, but “has made” means it’s already there. “is making”? Possibly. “has made”? That means it’s great right now, so my vote’s no.
