You have to choose between a 1978 Cutlass Supreme...with a diesel
A 1974 Mustang II
Or a 2005 PT Cruiser...convertible, all the sportiness of a minivan and none of the usability

Personally, I’d track the Mustang II, DD the Cutlass, and burn the cruiser. Always burn the PT Cruiser.

dd the mustang II, Track the Cruiser, and Burn the gutless!
The cruiser is a turbo 2.4 right?

Burn the Mustang, DD the PT cruiser, and Track the Cutlass, because that diesel is going to explode soon, then it’s LS SWAP-A-PALOOSA

DD Mustang
Track Cutlass because it’s only a matter of time before the engine shits the bed. Even more so if tracked. Bam, opportunity to buid a proper track car from it.
Burn PT Loser. Then lace it with magnesium and torch again. Repeat with thermite. Drop remains in Mount Etna.

I saw the lead picture and thought “Why is a 78-79 Cutlass terrible?” Then I read the word Diesel...... Good grief you made this quite the difficult decision....

Can I do an engine swap in the Cutlass? If so, I’d DD that, track the Mustang and burn the PT Loser. If not... then hell, I’d still probably do the same thing.

DD: Cutlass, because it’s fly as fuck
Track: PT Cruiser, because I can fit with my helmet once the top is down
Burn: The pile of Ford parts resembling a Mustang.

As ugly as the PT cruiser is, it would make the best commuter. Plus it’s a convertible, which just makes it better.
DD PT
Track Mustang II
Burn Gutless Diesel

Assuming that we’re not allowed to engineer improvements, burn the Cutlass. Because no level of malaise luxury would offset its miseries as a DD and its track value is precisely diddly, so one time out would be enough.
Trouble is - probably half of Mustang IIs at random were also mechanically dire, and
so is the PT.
Therefore, the focus has to be on which can be strung out the longest period of time cheapest and easiest while being a rolling tragedy, so probably DD the Mustang II. Even assuming a Lima 4, you can keep going, and going, and going...
Tough choice, however, as the PT does offer some fringe benefits for DD. Why track it? Because if it’s only tracked, maybe it will force enough air through its stupid fucking face to keep the engine cool, and with fewer miles being put on it will be available for those days when the Mustang II is going “SPLUH”. Not sure that can be said for the Cutlass.

I was torn between DDing the PT and the cutlass, but then I remembered I’d rather be stranded on the side of the road with a cutlass than make it to work in a PT cruiser :)

Screw you, when the engine blows I’ll replace it with whatever the hell I want :)
Doesn’t really matter though, there are many diesels to replace it. LMK for preference (DAMN YOU GM!!!) but a 6.6 would work. Heck, the 2.8 from the Colorado would do nicely.

You really think an Olds diesel will last? OK fine, I’ll keep it diesel and do a Duramax swap. Put a 2.73 in the rear and a T-56. That will keep a diesel happy, and be plenty fun on a track.
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles

I’m gonna got with
DD: mustang because it’s s liftback, you have a picture of a coupe but I prefer to preteythey don’t exist
Track: the PT Because a Caliber SRT4 swap Would basically bolt in. And how funny would it be to have a fast PT convertible.
Burn: the Olds because diesels need turbos.

DD the Gutless. Eventually the 350 diesel will die and since there’s not much for replacements left it gets a gasoline 350 like God intended.
Track the Mustang. In my head I’m assuming it’s like Rally Vincent’s in Gunsmith Cats: Burst and has been swapped with a 1969 Boss 302 engine.
Burn the PT Cruiser.
Burn them all

DD - Cutlass
Track - PT Cruiser: because that’s a turbo model (I think). SRT-4 engine can fix a lot of ugly.
Burn - Mustang II

If you had said a 1982-1985 diesel, this would go differently.
Daily the PT, track the Mustang, burn the Cutlass.
If it were a 1982-1985, it’d be daily the Cutlass, track the Mustang, burn the PT.

DD Cutlass, track the Mustang, and burn the PT down! You could biodiesel a Cutlass! No one would see that coming

You gotta remember though, that PT convertible was available with the Neon SRT4's turbo-4. Of course it’s still a shitty Chrysler product, but at least they tried something a little different, and at least it was affordable and not expensive like the copycat Murano cabrio. Still a burn for me, though, due to Chrysler’s poor reliability. Say, does that rollbar qualify for track use? :p
DD Cutlass Diesel (especially if the T-tops were available with it!)
Track Mustang II (probably still enough aftermarket support for it)
Burn PT Cabrio
