Sweet! I got out Sunday for a rip. Wasn’t planning it, but my youngest killed the battery playing with the signals and the horn. Once the trickle got it up enough to start, I banzaied out for and few to get the levels up.

feels good, don’t it?

man did I miss it.
also, I forgot just how easy this thing pulls the front wheel up. Maybe is because my Sv is lower and has a different ratio for 1st, but this thing WILL power wheelie first and lift the front in second if you shift quick enough.

well I know how much you hate Harleys and wish anyone riding one would die, but I got my kicks in last weekend.

eh?
okay, lets get something straight. Never, under any circumstances do I EVER. wish harm on another rider. I may not like Harley, but that is my personal disdain for the company and the ‘life style’. Not the riders. I’ve ridden them, I see the appeal in them. Its just not for me.
clear?

last week I rode 100 miles in 45 degree rain just to enjoy riding by the beach the next day in 75 degree weather. no ragrets

i’m VERY jealous. my SV is sitting at home amongst a GIANT box of parts that are just waiting to get thrown on
(gear indicator, timing retarder eliminator, volt meter, new plate mount, new headlights, and I need to redo my key switch)

did some minor maintenance on her too after the ride. new headlight and got the chain cleaned up. loving the new vortex chain and sprocket setup.

I saw a first gen versys at the dealer I got my KLR from that was gloss black and yellow with the wheels painted to match. And as much as I wanted to make fun of it, I kinda liked it. How is yours? I was thinking of recommending one to a co-worker who wants to get into bikes since he’s a bit taller like me. In the dealer it was pretty comfy to sit on and easy to reach all controls.

I bought it because it was the cheapest thing on kijiji that ran and had fuel injection.
motor is eh. I’m not a fan of the kawi 650. frame is decent. suspension likewise. Brakes feel a little wooden on mine, I’m thinking its just old fluid.
feels small TBH with you. mine also had an inch taken out of the seat as well, but it feels a little smaller then my F800R around the tank. not as wide.
its not a bad bike. does SHOCKINGLY good wheelies in 1st and can clutch up in 2nd. parts are cheap and easy to get, and its easy enough to wrench on.

Sweet. He wants something newer(ish) and there’s a couple in my area. We’ll see if he pulls the trigger or not. And while you might not be a fan of the engine.....it’s still faster than my own 650 :|

its not a bad motor, I just like my V-twins more then I do my I2s.
also, a friends 650 ninja (same motor) dropped a valve and grenaded the #1 piston at 45K km.

I still have never owned a V-twin. I might have to try and snag an older ducati monster or maybe a cheap sportster or something to get my fix. Sadly, SV sellers in my area be like “GREAT BIKE! NEEDS NOTHING! (bike has obviously fallen over several times and has a headlight hanging off) 4k$ NO LOWBALLERS!

still probably needs nothing lmao. SV is stupid durable.
but yea, that blows.
