Don’t loose data. Its expensive to get back

Kinja'd!!!

Had a 16 GB SD (full of hard fought video and pictures) fail on me. The cost to get it back? $400 or more. One of those things where it just sucks all around. I may be able to get it down to $200 but even then.

You should try tying down your data next time.

You need to have cell service for the cloud to work.

Kinja'd!!!

Which was hard to come by. Hell I couldn’t even get AM radio.

I used to work as a proctor in our department computer lab, and we had a saying: “There are two kinds of computer users: those who have lost data, and those who will lose data.” I had an external HD die and lost a crap ton of photos. Recovery fees were exorbitant (as you know) and I have chalked them up as just gone.

Don’t treat your data poorly, it won’t run away next time.

This is why I use JFileSync across our home LAN to sync my important files to my laptop, spare desktop and main desktop :)

Sorry to hear of your data failure tho, glad you can at least get it back - that’s the main thing!

Try 3TB worth of images from my photography business... I lost my whole portfolio 2 years ago, been building up everything up ever since..
