What’s for dinner?
Sadness and loneliness.

I spent the day cleaning the grill, so we had hand cut, marinated porch chops on the grill, with soaked cherry wood for added flavor, potatoes, crescent rolls and green beans. All in all, not a bad dinner.

I ate dinner, but it was with a girl who doesn’t want the same thing I do.

Went out earlier for a meal with a few current and former colleagues (more and more are becoming former colleagues, Lol).
Roast gammon, large Yorkshire pudding (on top), mash potato, and a couple of roast potatoes (cauliflower, broccoli and carrot batons on a side dish) with gravy.
Followed by apple crumble and custard.
The place was a country pub that’s been made into more of a restaurant but has a good pub atmosphere.

YOU DIDNT READ MY MENU.
At the price I paid, it gets a special name.

So British.
More confirmation that on my next trip over, I’m eating with you.
You forgot the beer.

Because it was a Sunday. Many pubs and rural restaurants do mainly Sunday dinner of roast gammon, pork, beef or chicken or a fish (something or other). If we’d of gone another day it would of been a more open and varied menu.
Well as with any meet up with current and former colleagues the drink flowed a bit.
I started with a locally made stout while waiting for the others, then at the table because some lasses were drinking mixers and some preferring chardonnay and others sauvingnon blanc I got a bottle each of chardonnay, sauvignon blanc and a pinot grigio to share while eating (I’m always in charge of wine ordering as soon as the list comes out, everyone looks at me and says, ‘give it to Sven’) then later as we went and sat in the sunny beer garden out back I had a couple of double Jameson’s.

I don’t go out very often so when I do I like to do it right.

That’s one reason why I like drinking with family.

We ate leftovers from last night which was an Italian quinoa casserole. Broccoli, onions, eggplant, and tomatoes diced up and baked in quinoa with a layer of mozzarella on top. A little drizzle of fig balsamic vinegar on top.

That sounds great. Sometimes leftovers are even better than the first time around.

Yeah, especially with Italian and Mexican food. Gives all the seasoning and oil more time to soak in.

This is a sad post. Sorry you have to eat chain food.
