Awful car, the start of Mercedes downfall. I remember my cousin getting one of these C classes as a company car (back in the day, it was brand new) as he had just got a promotion at work which meant he went from a poverty spec Volvo 940 to a top of the range C class turbo diesel. He wanted his Volvo back after 6 months, the Merc was awful, bits of trim coming off in your hand, various electrical systems randomly failing, breaking down (a lot) etc. Not Mercedes finest moment!
