What car company do you wish made a roadster?

By roadster I mean a Miata type one, although I’m not sure there’s any other kind of roadster. By that of course I mean small, 4cyl, RWD, and light weight.

The catch is that it will embody the character of that brands midsize sedan. So if you decide Toyota, because it’ll be reliable, it’ll be the Camry of roadsters. Dull, reliable, and boring. If you choose Chevy it’ll be cheap, with lots of convenience features, “ehhh” reliability, and handle like it’s a class bigger than it is. (That’s how I describe Chevy’s, your opinion may very.)

I’ll also add, it can be a brand that’s no longer manufactured.

ohh, wonder what a saab miata would be like.

roof folds in sideways, and stock its kinda ehhhh. but boosted engines that can mae a LOT of power and a few nut jobs doing 200mph runs with them

Alfa. Came so damn close to making a new car I would actually buy with the Italian MX-5 version, but it’s a Fiat now and no Alfa version :(

I’d have loved it if they made an Alfa version with the 1750 TBI engine...

Renault. I would really like a reborn Floride/Caravelle, on a slightly scaled down mid engined platform derived from the new Alpine, however made from steel instead of aluminium, and possibly a bit less powerful. And since Renaults tend to be a good mix between comfortable and sporty, so that will make it a nice backroad cruiser.

That’s the issue :S I might just have been able to swing an MX-5 sized roadster for monthly payments, but if it actually came to saving up to buy an Alfa I’ve pick an Alfetta/GTV6/Alfa 6 any day of the week.

Ford has 5 engines that’d be great, ecoboost 1l 3, 1.5l 3, 1.6l 4, 2l 4, 2.3l 4. They would all be great in a small Miata fighter

Since so many are already taken, how about Mercedes-Benz? Sure, they make the SLC, but why not an SLB or SLA? It could use any of the engines offered in the CLA.
