I always thought the Ampera was easily better looking than the 1st gen Chevy Volt here in the States. From what I’ve read, no diesel option in Europe was what killed it (pre-Dieselgate, of course).

I think it was a matter of little marketing and no public awareness as well.
Interestingly, the proportion of cars that are diesel powered here is almost unchanged at a little under 70%. For the Golf, and despite all the controversy, it’s about 65%.

only seen about 3 or 4 myself.
considering there was only around 300 imported , it’s no surprise.
