I’m cycling home from work on the coastal Cycle path when I happen upon a number of vehicles from all four emergency services (Police, Fire, Ambulance and Coastguard), I think it’s rude to stop and stare, so I carried on, I could see anything anyway because of the beach huts lining the view between me and the sea. I get home and find out a plane crashed into the sea, luckily both occupants were OK and got ashore.
This is at least the eighth or ninth air accident in the 17 years I’ve lived in Shoreham, the most recent before this was the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

That may have been a somewhat-controlled landing.

Absolutely, you can tell they tried to land it sensibly, where it hit the sea is only sorta half a mile or so from the end of the runway. It was his best option a’s none of the roads run in the same direction as the runway there. Good job by the pilot for causing minimal damage.
