I owned a inboard out board “cuddy cabin” type boat for a long while. A good friend owned a 28-30' late 70's sail boat. I always resisted going out on it because he kept it in a marina that was kinda far away. I finally go out and we get going (Lake Ontario) with a good strong wind. We hit about 9 knots and that when the owner said yep that’s about as fast as it’s ever went.. I asked to turn back after an hour. I know sailing is a huge sport and millions love it but give me some power boat any day. My boat was the smaller of the two in the pic but with the push of a throttle could hit 40 knots in no time fully loaded with people and gear. Long story short I miss boating big time.
