Just when you think you’ve seen ever woodgrain finish in new construction, you come across this. There’s lot of black and green on this... carmelish color.
Fuuuuuuutuuuuuureeee

I’ve seen people build speakers with that veneer..looks great as an accent to a room....not sure how i like it on kitchen cabinets.

I would go insane if that was my house.
The grain on the drawers runs perpendicular to the doors.

is that laminate? at first it kinda looked like bamboo. The patter doesn;t look bad but I wouldn’t have switched around the grain direction like they did
![]() 03/24/2017 at 14:06 |

That’s typically how grain runs on doors/drawers.

God no.

Straight out the IKEA brochure.

I like it. I don’t like the white counter with the white walls, but i dig the bamboo veneer. Then again, I like a majority of what you post, so maybe I’m the target audience?

Looks like wooden office furniture circa 1983. No thanks.
And a white countertop? What the hell is wrong with people. The first time you don’t clean up spaghetti sauce perfectly you’re fucked.

That’s going to look so dated in 7 years
![]() 03/24/2017 at 14:20 |

I’ve never noticed that before. I don’t like it.
![]() 03/24/2017 at 14:25 |

that reminds me of the “Zebrano” wood Cadillac was using in their interiors some time ago.

Why no lazy Susan in the corner? Do these people hate having storage?

Not necessarily. Corian is pretty impermeable, as is engineered quartz (my folks have this in white). Granite, not so much. I
’
m still a Formica fan, secretly. I actually don
’
t like our
“
camouflage granite
”
counter for a multitude of reasons

I actually want to see the mess so I can clean it up.

In this case, with the visible contrasting grain (and solid panels) it stands out much more.

That has to be Ikea. Those brackets and the handles are used on all their stuff. Looks too much like a doctor’s office for me.

I LIKE IT!
![]() 03/24/2017 at 14:35 |

It’s brand new, and already looks like it hasn’t aged well. Yuck.

Ever have an urge to burn these horrendous designs down as you walk out?
![]() 03/24/2017 at 14:54 |

That looks like a gap but I think it’s a shadow from an poorly lit chandler.

PNW quality!

Upon further review the board of professional chandelier inspectors and Toyota surveyors has determined that the image in question is probably a shadow.

Reminds me of the Mercedes “zebrano” wood that became popular 35 or so years ago:
![]() 03/24/2017 at 15:21 |

I don’t hate it.
![]() 03/24/2017 at 15:48 |

I can’t help but feel like that’s going to look terribly dated a few years from now.
![]() 03/24/2017 at 15:52 |

looks like it’s straight out of the 1982 Ikea catalog
![]() 03/24/2017 at 16:02 |

That won’t age well. Already looks out of date.

Ewwww printed “wood”
Apart from the vertical grain, that thing belongs several decades back. Kindly send it there.

No; it would look nicer if it did.

True, that.

Was about to say the same thing. Reminds me of our old breakroom at work.
![]() 03/24/2017 at 19:26 |

It reminds me of a dentist’s office somehow. Or the kitchen in a church recreational area.
![]() 03/24/2017 at 19:32 |

I agree. It doesn’t feel home-y. It feels like you are somewhere else...

Not everything I post is in a mocking nature. I typically prefer to post things that will get a rise out of some people. Click click click! Even stuff I like tends to be polarizing. My wife and I can’t agree on anything for a kitchen. She wants a farmhouse style kitcheb. I want something broader and contemporary that will appeal to the most amoint of potential buyers when we sell this place.

I’m assuming this will go straight into the dumpster in 2039. The Home Remodeling Industrial Complex has convinced us that kitchens absolutely need to be gutted and redone every 20 years or so, because apparently wood and tile has a shelf life.
![]() 03/24/2017 at 21:03 |
|
But in all seriousness; they’re putting some tile or color on that wall, right???
![]() 03/24/2017 at 22:37 |
|
Yeah this unit is still far from complete. I’m fairly certian it’s getting deco glass tile backsplash.

Oof. White laminate and European hinges, no thank you.
