The Dodge Demon made its first public drag racing pass at the Gatornats. It ran a 9.65 @ 148 mph. It also managed to humble a second gen Camaro at the same time. It does a nice burnout and it sounds damn fine running down the track, its apparent natural habitat.

Pics or it didn’t happen. For being “public” I don’t see anything about it.

If true, a car with a warranty that can run mid-9's is flat-out ridiculous in a good way!

Here’s something.

2017 Gator Nationals and the Dodge Demon was making its first public test run. We asked a Dodge rep if this was an actual Demon mule, to which he confirmed. When we asked for specs he declined to comment.

So is this just a street legal COPO or Cobra Jet? High price tag, low volume, and meant to go NHRA racing? That’s the direction I’m leaning.

I figured it was going to be this car, couldn’t find a picture myself. Its not actually a Demon, its a Drag Pak with some stickers.

I don’t think that’s a demon just a drag pak challenger. That exhaust is not street legal.
Plus you can see it has a cage. If some one would of looked under it and seen what axle it has we would know. Probably just some mopar guy jumping on the band wagon.

Two things they appear to have modified for the strip.
1) Those Hoosiers aren’t of the street legal variety.
2) That exhaust isn’t gonna meet the db limit in any state with a limit.
That being said, 9.65, if this is really it, is a very good time.
