Where would you say I am within the life expectancy of 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee w/ the 5.7 liter? I’m having second thoughts because this has been WAAAY too cheap and far too easy and reliable (much like yours truly). I’m seriously considering running this to 216,000 miles. Too crazy? Not crazy enough??!

Nope, the engine is about to blow. The only reasonable thing you can do is replace it with an Arrington 426 630HP crate engine. You have to. Your Jeep engine will blow up and kill everyone on oppo if you don’t.

It’s you with a 630HP Jeep, or you with no jeep and a bunch of dead oppos. Do the right thing. If not for us, then do it for ‘MURICA.

Jeep tech here (by which I mean I’m obliged to work on my friends’ XJs). Sir, your car us unsafe to drive. You need a new exhaust, and the engine isn’t getting enough air/fuel either. A supercharger is the only preventative maintenance solution we can offer you.

I’ll have to actually check on that, I’ve always done waterpumps every 120k miles.

I work up north in the oil patch and I’ve seen 5.7 Hemi trucks go for well over 200k.

These trucks get treated like shit and have to idle over 12hrs a day in -20 temperatures.

They usually develop a tick around 120-150k but it doesn’t seem to have any effect on the motor.

I’ve just seen a lot of Hemi’s of that time period needing water pumps lately. Just a heads up.
