I street parked a pathfinder in Chicago for 7 years. It got plowed in regularly. Never got it stuck. You’re right. This isn’t rocket science.

We were leaving our un-shoveled parking spot on the street once, and there was less than a foot of snow on the ground.

Our car hopped out of it with no problem, but a pedestrian was watching us and looked like he just saw us create world peace that would last for eternity.

There is a huge snow bank behind the Jeep. Going backwards would have gotten him more stuck and you don’t have steering going backwards when the tires are in ruts.

That was me trying to climb the driveway leading to the AirBnB my friends and I rented out in Tahoe. Streets were all plowed well enough that I could drive without chains, but that driveway was one icy mofo. Ripped off a sick burnout in the Camry for a good 30 seconds while scrambling for grip.

No regrets, especially since I got the farthest up that driveway out of our three cars.
