Saturday at the races. Today I set out to take more pictures of cars on track, which I did. But I felt off my game. I got out of the zone. My timing was off when doing follow shots. I was getting my focus points wrong. The stupid catch fence was cramping my style. Good fences might make good neighbors, but they make crappy pictures. However, I did get some good pictures.

Things of note from today: Sebastien Bourdais binned it in qualifying, so he’ll start way back for his home race; Will Power nabbed pole again, he’s held it seven of the last eight races here; Marko Radisic’s black No. 11 Pirelli World Challenge Ferrari caught fire during today’s race [insert flaming Ferrari joke here].

The Bentley is probably the loudest PWC car; it sounds amazing.

Fences be damned! I did my best to shoot through them. On Sunday, I probably won’t even bother shooting the IndyCar race as it’ll be too crowded, but I will be shooting the PWC race that follows it, and maybe the morning Stadium Super Trucks race if I get down there in time.

Glad to see you’re having fun! The PWC race was quite good. A bit sad to not see AE back with the GTRs though. Hyped to see Honda doing well in Indy this year.

Also agreed: fences suck for photos.

Yeah, I’m bumbed that the AE GTRs aren’t there. But they have a Stadium Super Truck!

Oh man, yeah. Fences are a bane unless you are trying to photograph them.

But you came out with some really great shots!
