As I play more on the Vespa, it became clear (with some nudging from Oppo’s own motorcycle prof) that I needed a full face helmet because safety. I am increasingly using the Vespa to explore my urban surroundings. So I probably spent too much, but it is my head.
I have been driving around the city, and I feel safer. Having your head in a full face helmet is more like being in a car where you feel insulated from your surroundings. While I will abandon the half helmet, I will miss the sounds and closeness to the road. That being said, I would rather protect my brain.

Nah, being alive and without head injuries is well worth it :)

Heads are important, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

So you have a Shoei head. Welcome to the club.
It may be a bit hotter, but the added protection to your face is worth it.

Yep it can take very little to mess up yer noggin. I was knocked out twice in the Marines so I don’t ride anymore.

That’s a nice bucket!
There’s no such thing as too much safety. We mostly ride off road. Our group pitched in together to buy a bunch of kids helmets so even the little ones on 3hp go carts are protected.

thats a nice looking lid. IMO, you can’t really spend too much on a helmet. The one I’m looking at getting next will run about $750 with the shield.....so yea.

I will never give anyone shit for spending too much on safety, or for buying the best they could afford.
