Actual space to enter the room is overrated.

Quality home theater sound is underrated.

You need a bigger TV to match the big speakers

I can appreciate that.
The larger 10" 3-ways are now painted black and are being used as my main speakers (the sound is epic). Home build with a responce of 26hz to 26,000hz +/- 1.5db. LR2 passive crossovers at 400hz and 4000hz if I recall correctly.
The smaller pair are in the garage and are always running when I work on the car.

Maybe whenever we move into a bigger place. I had a smaller budget when I bought this one than I do now, but I still quite like it, especially for $500

Can relate.
Our house is an open floor plan, 2800 sq ft...yet my system is flat to 10hz. I have two subwoofer enclosures that are each the size of free-standing stove/oven combo units (~15 cu ft internal volume). They each house a 21" long-throw sub (Mal 21's for those that know)

Hold On... I’ve gotta see this. Also I need to go and hose the drool out of my keyboard.
Apparently I’ve just been out of the audio game for far too long. In the past I was always more obsessed with building SQ systems than crazy loud ones (like most people I know), ideally ones that could cleanly play subsonic... But flat down to 10hz is just insane.

I’ll try to get a pic of the enclosures tonight.

I just went and looked up info on those Maelstrom Drivers and I must say aside from the actual information that I was able to find out about those subs, what a roller coaster ride Kevin Haskins has been through building them.

Yeah. His journey is one of the unfortunate ones. The vendor issues caused him to have a ~50% DOA rate. One of my drivers was purchased during his “fire sale”. As he went out of business, he sold off the remaining stock to people willing to gamble. $25 plus shipping for a $750 driver.
