Got this for the little dude over the weekend. I think he’s ready to help bleed brakes on the SUV now. Okay, that might be too much to ask of a toddler. We’ll start with a timing belt replacement.

I... err I mean, my kids had the same one.

I may have enjoyed doing it with them more than I should have.

We have a few of these in the house, pretty fantastic. I love that the “impact gun” clicks when it reaches its 0.01 ft/lb torque limit. The only thing is, it should be stronger on the reverse setting. I almost always have to help my kids loosen the screws/nuts.

No shame there! He had to pry it from my hands when we opened the box. Trying so hard to let him figure things out on his own.

How else is he going to learn that finger tightening lug nuts is never enough.

He figured out that clicks = tight enough. Jiffy Lube could learn a thing or two about torque specs.

Are you using the shovel bucket as a jack stand?

Oh, I like that one! My daughter has a “race car” that’s similar, which she loves. She also loves cranes and tow trucks, so I should get her this one as well :)

And you will too, my friend.

I took out my real set and showed him what happens when you over-torque a bolt. Now he understands the clicking sound.
