and man, it was a crazy ass experience from my first day until I got in my car and left for the last time.
Not even mad. I start my new job on Monday with better pay and Saturdays off.

Well, this post just begs for elaboration. Qué pasó? What happened?
![]() 03/07/2017 at 16:26 |

Hey, better pay and guaranteed days off is pretty swell!
So, after all that: Cadillac or Lexus?
![]() 03/07/2017 at 16:26 |

yeah, what he said

Details man details!
Good luck on the new one.

Best of luck! Surprised this happened after they sent you for more training.

I kinda need to know too.

The official reason my GM gave me was that I had my feet on the desk and refused to help a customer. The first time he told it, the customer was a woman, and the second time, after I assured him that that never happened, she was now some guy, so either the customer transitioned right then and there on the showroom floor, or that story is bullshit and just an excuse. The boss told me that people don’t lie to him and fired me. Well I have a terrible poker face and said “that’s okay.” He asked me why I seemed relived, I said I’m not, he pointed out that I was smiling and said “oh sorry.” He wished me luck and shook my hand, I wished him luck right back. My direct supervisor got visibly shaken when I was fired, and followed me out and asked me why I was so adamant that that hadn’t happened, and I told him because it hadn’t and every single part of that story was made up. He offered to go in and try to change the GM’s mind, but I told him that it was quite alright, I always land on my feet. He told me if I ever need a reference he’d be more than happy to supply one.

Yeah that part is really funny.
![]() 03/07/2017 at 16:38 |

So the GM had it in for you, or he just got a bug up his butt?
Aw, doesn’t matter. Sounds like you are better off.

Both.
I’m glad because now I get to start my higher paying job earlier.
![]() 03/07/2017 at 16:39 |

That does seem like quite a bit of bullshit. What was the other stuff? You said it was a crazy ass experience since you first started working there. How long were you there? Why do you think your direct supervisor look so scared? Think he feels like he might be next?
![]() 03/07/2017 at 16:40 |

C-A-D-I-L-L-A-C all day long. (And I’m not biased, because now I’ve been fired from both)

Nah, he’s good. I was just one of his top guys and ever since the new year our department has been bleeding employees.

Cool story, bro. Except I’m not a man, I’m a woman. And you misgendered me. The correct response is to apologize.

I like the idea of the customer transitioning right then and there on the showroom. Accompanied by a musical number with Lexus employees performing as backup dancers
Full on broadway style musical titled “GM’s Bullshit Story: The Musical!”
![]() 03/07/2017 at 16:44 |

I’d look at that poster and chuckle.
I wouldn’t buy the ticket to see the show, but y’know.
![]() 03/07/2017 at 16:47 |

I mean, GM already did do a musical that one time. Of a sort. That “Design for Dreaming” thing.

None of the above.

well ya, Xyl0c41n3 is obvioulsy a female name.
how could TysMagic get it so wrong? I guess she is always getting it wrong though, typical TysMagic

Great, now I’m trying to figure out who plays you in the stage production.

General Manager not General Motors, but yeah, the MST3K episode is great.

According to Scoob’s census, 98% of people on OPPO are men. So I don’t think their generalization requires an apology nor do I feel it was out of line. Also by saying, bro you assumed their gender as well, so maybe you owe them an apology.

Let me know when you figure it out.

That was kind of my joke - that there already was a “GM’s Bullshit Story: The Musical”, just wrong GM. But yeah, also the whole “an automaker has (implausibly) actually done a musical before”.
![]() 03/07/2017 at 16:58 |

I know my handle is ambiguous (it’s ambiguous on purpose). And I also know that 98 percent of Oppo is male. It’s not the first time I’ve been misgendered here over the years because of those two salient facts.
Which is why I responded with a simple “she*” at first.
No hard feelings. It literally happens all the time.
But when I’ve corrected the commenter and his response is that he was “generalizing” in a comment where he was specifically referring to me and what I said, that’s not only a lie, but it’s rude.

ETA: Also, my use of “cool story, bro” wasn’t a reference to the user but to his bullshit “sorry, not sorry” response. Specifically, it was me referencing the “Cool story, bro” meme:

“ his response is that he was”
woah WOAH WOAH!!!
“TysMagix” identifies as a non-gendered turtle!

Cool story, bro.
![]() 03/07/2017 at 17:02 |

Well maybe you just need to get thicker skin and stop complaining.
Also how the crap is that a lie?
![]() 03/07/2017 at 17:03 |

Right. Because clearly the proverbial thickness of my skin is the issue here.

Know your meme, bro:

Also, not an inaccurate use of the term “bro” to begin with since I know you’re a man. So spare me your faux outrage.

I remember when I first called Yamahog “dude” not realizing she was a female and immediately said “Whoops! Sorry!” that IS the only response.

Since I had my first job at 10 years old delivering papers, I have been effectively fired from at least four jobs, and I feel like I might be forgetting some.
You’ll be fine. Perhaps you are not meant for the mundane cubicle showroom floor life.
