Apparently I suck at car shopping

because all I’m looking at is BMWs.

Drove this E93 328i at carmax in Savannah and I can see why people like convertibles. Living in Savannah would mean that I should have plenty of opportunities to drop the top, if I was to get it.

Drove this 128i at Carmax in Roswell yesterday. If felt like I was right back in my 128i, albeit with a few more options, and by few I mean almost all of them. Didn’t help that I drove there in the 135is, as the M3 was in the shop.

I also drove an X1 and liked it.

I have no idea which BMW I’m getting next.

Just test drive a GS-R. Then when you buy a Type-R it could only be better! Or you could just buy a GS-R and mod it, which would be fun.

Drove a 2014 IS250, did not like it. Car was ok to drive, but I don’t like the way Lexus has everything laid out, nor do I like their infotainment system and if I plan on spending an hour in the car each day, things like that matter.

Hmm... Maybe a more performance-y BMW suv? I drove an x6 m (I think, it was the giant coupe suv thing) and it was fantastic. This coming from a Miata guy

I’ve driven both a 2014 and a 2016 C300, I didn’t like the 2014 and the 2016 was too much. Drove a 2013 E350 coupe, didn’t really like that. The Focus ST was pretty good, but more than I wanted to pay and I don’t want a used one of those. Did not like the Lexus I drove. The problem is any good alternative is either going to be more than I want to spend or something I don’t want to drive.

I think you need to look at a Luxo-bath. I know you wanted a small car but having something that rides like glass in comparison to the M3 will be a welcome change. Have you driven an LS460? Thy really don’t drive as big as they are.

Just guessing...unless you’ve driven a couple cars and are thinking, “Man, too tough to choose — I need both!” Anyway just wondering if when you drive a model, or even a particular car of a model you’ve already driven, that really lights your fire, it’ll be, like, “OK this one is the one!”

Would it really be worth taking out a loan unless it’s, like, “I have to have this!”?

Counterpoint: if that “one” car is an M6 ‘vert, or a 1M, why not buy a $4K beater and save for that one? Single, engineer — you’d be there before you know it

I really like the way the M-Sport E9Xs look.

Already done that, it’s a good thing.

They’ve all been like, I need this. I think that manual E92 M-Sport checked the most boxes, apart from price, which is why I don’t have it.

The loan is worth it, I could but I don’t want to write a check for the car. I don’t mind a car note.

The one car is the one I already have. So this car is basically a car so I can keep that car for as long as possible.

I don’t really like the EPS in most new BMWs, they have gotten better. I think the EPS in F10 528i was actually pretty decent. It’s hard to beat an NA BMW I6, which is why I think I might go that route. There is this one E92 M-Sport that I’m waiting for them to come down on price. I’ve already driven it, and as soon as they realize no one but me is going to buy it, I’m going to do the paperwork over the phone and just go and pick up the car. Or if that doesn’t happen, I guess I’ll find myself another one, maybe a wagon or a vert, or maybe even an X1. I really don’t know which BMW I’m getting next.

They were asking 19k, dropped it down to 18k. I originally offered 15,5k, and then 16k. It’s worth 16k to me, but not anymore than that. I basically told the salesman you’re not going to sell it for what you’re asking, when in a month still haven’t sold it, let me know. I guess they overpaid for the car and say they’re going to lose money on it, which does not matter to me, that’s their problem., Worse comes to worse, I have to DD the M3 for a month or so. Life is rough. Here’s a link to the car.

I was tearing around my town yesterday with the windows down and it was great.

Probably about as much crap as I got at my old job about having two BMWs. People would be like “You’ve got 2 BMWs?” to which I’d respond, “you don’t?”
