I’m on record multiple times insisting that the W-body Impala is a decent car. They’re cheap, reliable, comfortable, and are great highway cruisers. I cannot, however, fathom how anybody could find them to be attractive.

nobody said they’re cute :p

But if you’re lucky, you can find an Impala SS with that V8 and a front bench seat :o)

Maybe it is in reference to the driver?

Almost every vehicle I’ve ever owned has had a GM 4-speed automatic. The only problem I’ve ever had with any of them, was with the 4T80e in the 2000 Deville I inherited from my grandma. The torque converter wouldn’t lock up, resulting in poor highway gas mileage. The trans shop recommended I not fix it, because, “You can buy a lot of extra gas for the tree grand I’d have to charge you.” So I didn’t.

Solid cars but honestly miserable inside. Mom and Dad have a 2011. The interior materials are what I’d expect in an Aveo.

does it at least have the front bench seat?

My parents had an ex-rental buyback they’d picked up at around 20k miles. When my sister wrote it off at over 250k, that 3.4 was still ticking away as loudly as it was when they bought it, but it was still only using about 200ml of oil between changes, and they’d done nothing to it beyond maintenance, a couple electrical niggles that were taken care of under warranty, and I suppose the padlock was acting up. But nothing wrong with it, still ran and drove fine. Too much snow and gravel for it to still look new, but that thing was brutally murdered by an Uplander long before its time was up.

No way. Those things pretty much eat transmissions like your grandkids go through a bowl of werthers originals. Not worth it.

They have comfy seats. I logged about 1500 miles on a rental in 2010. That was a good road trip.

I would never say anything bad to a person about a car they love. But I can’t wrap my mind around finding this car attractive.
