Is 800 bucks a month a lot for rent? I have no reliable reference to check.

I’m looking for a place for the summer and this was the best I could find (found it on AirBnB). I could only find offers of around 1000 bucks on Craigslist. Booking was way more expensive.

Thoughts?

1 bdr or shared apt? That’s definitely on the lower end of the spectrum - - expect ~$900-1050/month and up for a 1bdr

One room shared with a friend. Thanks for the input man, it really helps.

I paid $1150/mo solo for 1 year and then $900/mo for a shared 2 bdr 1 bath. No A/C, shared (reserved) parking and laundry on-site.

That seems hilariously cheap for that part of California

I’d be surprised if you could get more than a closet at that price.

That’s a fucking steal for that area. My buddy rents 500 square feet in Redwood City for about $2500/mo.

That sound very cheap to me (based on the going rate in San Diego, which is an expensive place but cheaper than the Bay Area). Please be mindful of rental scams where someone lists a property they do not own or don’t have the authority to lease, and run away with the deposits or rental fees you submit before, during, and/or after rental.

That sounds like “roach infestation” and/or motor home to me. Nothing is that cheap in Silicon Valley without issues.
