It appears I will needing a thermostat, at least I hope that’s all I need. Temp sudddenly crept up while rotting in line waiting for fast food. But right before it go to the white hashmark it dropped back to normal.

This will be the 4th thermostat between three Tercel that I will have replaced.

It’s a stop-and-go 35-minute drive home today... Let us hope something really bad doesn’t happen :)

How’s the coolant level? Any chance that the thermostat is opening late because there’s no coolant touching it?

Not sure if that’s something you can adjust via ECU but they seem to be working so if it ain’t broke don’t fix it!
