I think using logrythems is the most advance math I’ve used since graduating from college. When I do cross sectional area, flow rate, or chemical feed calcs I get so excited.

I have access to it, it might even be on my computer. But I’m old school, I like to do it by hand at least once then program a spreadsheet to do it.

I haven’t used any advanced math since college. That was 4+ years ago now, I am using my college computer right now, at least that still works.

I don’t know who uses it In engineering, maybe in finite element analysis and other more advanced structural engineering. I have tables for most everything!

Yes this would be the desired approach for continuing very creative math. My dream would be to work for JPL figuring out how to put robots on Mars. But most of those folks are the extreme experts in their respective professions, I’m very average.

The math teacher across the hall from me is a retired Boeing Fellow he tells stories of engineers doing landing gear suspension load calculations essentially in their heads as that is all they have done their entire career. I can only imagine the look on some new guys face when the old guy just looks at it and goes you are wrong, you made a mistake here.
