The bug has bit, and after riding in a Stratified tuned FiST, I’m sold on a tune. I’m leaning towards the Stratified, but I would like to hear more input.

I may be in the VW/Audi world but have heard the Cobb Stage 1 package is a nice start.

The Stratified includes the Cobb Stage 1 Accessport with the Cobb tunes, plus their own.

I always went with Panda.

Cobbs package includes a rear mount to limit drive train movement and increase traction plus a performance air filter. I think even if you did the Stratified you should consider something in the way of mounts so you aren’t traction limited. A new intercooler at some point would be next.

Yeah, the mount is in the cards, but me and two other 2016 owners haven’t really noticed the engine firewall smack the early cars had. I already have a high flow filter, and pretty much every one of them for the FiST only adds sound.

But no cobb short throw shifter? FAIL

I want a short throw shifter, but I don’t know about Cobb. I like to live dangerously.

Doesn’t Ford sale a short throw shifter for the FiST too? I mean, it’s probably not the best option but it’s still and option.

Have you considered Tune+ ?

I have a few FiST friends running Adam’s Tune+ on their Cobb Accessports. He seems to have an amazingly quick turn around, offers unlimited lifetime adjustments as you add mods (mostly, outside of like E85, meth and such) and they all love his tune for the FiST. You will need the Accessport already or he may sell one bundled with his tunes.

I ran a custom tune from Tune+ on my BooSTang as well and was very impressed by his service and the power gains.

I would make sure that it can put the power down, with better tires or a good engine mount. Otherwise, a turbocharged car without a tune is sort of a waste.

It can pretty well. It’s nothing crazy.

Yeah, but I like proven things on my daily. Plus, no local tuners for these.

Off the shelf tunes are garbage, look harder and or drive further to find someone who can at least give you a road tune.

Once you find a candidate talk to them about your goals and get advice on what you should do to the car prior to tuning.

Stratified are pretty recommended. I’m not looking for max detonation or at making my car an experiment.

WAT?

you should be looking for no detonation or pre-ignition for that matter.

Which an experienced tuner can do a far better job of providing than some generalized off the shelf solution.

You want to find a tuner who has done a bunch of these, who it won’t be “some experiment” for.

any place that dyno tunes can tune a car. they dont have to be an expert with a certain car. Its all the same. Tune for boost fuel, timing, knock, etc.

a tune from a company is ultra conservative because its meant to work on many cars. Its like buying a suit from a tailor vs Khols

A. Stratified’s flash tune is dyno tested.

B. You send in your data logs so they can fine tune it to your car, and local gas.

Why bother asking if you’re not going to listen and you’ve clearly already made your decision?
