And it’s that ugly step side Toyota with the blob taillights!

That’s a shark! Yes I know it’s obviously a shark but I lived in California for 12 years and have never seen anything like that.

Could be worse

I actually love the blob light Tundras. And the similar step side 10th gen F150. I also used to own a stepside pickup because I am weird.

I searched it and it was supposedly taken in Galveston TX

I had an 85' Chevy stepside, still had the wood in the bed. I liked those.

I could imagine seeing something like that on the north coast but not in the Bay Area.

I lived in Hawaii half my life and I have seen some smaller ones, mainly boars are in trucks in HI and the dogs are in a hunting cage in the truck too. It’s a thing. No way you get a Great White in a truck so maybe why we don’t see them.

Super Bowl XLIX happened two years ago, though.
(If you need explanation, I’ll gladly give it).

Well I don’t know anything about football. I did install the super bowl here in SF actually. I had to do lots of graphics and I had to keep reading the names because I had no idea who they were. Now F1 or sumo wresting, I know a lot! You might have to explain.... Lots of killing sharks during that event?

Stepside worked a lot better on trucks before the 90's. I think they could still pull it off, but it would take some work. It doesn’t really make sense any more on full-size pickups because even the base 2WD models sit so high. If you want a step you can just get the full length running boards that go to the rear wheels.

Here’s a stepside model that made no sense at all:
Yes, a base RWD 1st gen Tacoma. If you’ve actually driven an early RWD Tacoma, you will be shocked to see how low they are to the ground. A completely worthless feature that ate into cargo capacity.

My first new vehicle was a 2002 Tundra. I liked the stepside when it came out in ‘03 and wished I would’ve waited a year to get one. I thought they were pretty unique. My father in law has a stepside 2000-ish Silverado. Sharp looking truck!

My neighbor across the street where I grew up got one of these when they came out. It was green.

Ah ok then

No, that’s still better.

That time you actually needed a larger truck was 2014

Seems pretty necessary to haul that shark out of the water.
