My pool is NASTY.
I have been working on it all afternoon, and I am ashamed it has gotten to this state. The rain, and having my trees trimmed (stuff falls in) led to this sorry state. Pumpkin is disappointed in me as she supervises my work.
In her view, I am a failure as a servant.

How did the plastic jug make it into the pool?

I was at a friend’s place today. His pool has about three feet of snow on top of it. It’s also an above-ground pool, so if he didn’t drain it, I’ll bet it’s a solid block of ice this far into winter.
I’d much rather swim in your pond, tbh.

I don’t see any bullfrogs or turtles, it’s not that bad.

It’s almost as bad as Zoidberg’s bath tubs.

We have free low-maintenace pools all over this area, but we call them “puddles”

Mine looks about the same. I’d share a photo but it’s dark out. I was hoping to April to just clean it up and open it for the year but I’m gonna have to blast it this week I think.

Congrats on the offer. I do find the concept of a architect buying a used house strange though. Did you look into building your own?

Looks like an Olympic pool now, time to put your house on the market

I cleaned pools professionally for a time while I was in college. This is far from the worst I’ve seen. Shock it, brush it well, skim it, and watch the chemical balance for a few days. It will be fine in no time.
