le sigh. The more things change...
But on the other hand, I see this development as a good thing. The people—the actual people—doing its best to effect their change their way; getting what they want, because they go get it themselves.
The only real challenge is to make sure they want the right things, like sustainable development, judicious use of the environment, a push to drastically decrease discrimination across the board, and a recognition that there’s bullshit that actively harms more people than it helps, and it has to be controlled so that any harm that may arise from action that stems from bullshit can be mitigated properly.
Evil is a unique affliction in that eradicating it can sterilize the world, and if it’s removed and suppressed for a long time with no education, generations will not be able to see any wrongs being done. This is why Germany is doing its best to educate its youth about WW2. This is why the youth have to know what evil looks like; why atrocious activities from history have to be retold. Because if you know how evil works, even if you never know what face evil takes form next time, you will know it’s evil and must be stopped.
It’s good that we’re getting what we want these days. But should we want what we’re getting?

I enjoyed reading your comment. You never know in this forum what you are going to get, but it’s frequently excellent.
I react a little bit, and I am having a hard time putting a word to describing the reaction, a little bit repelled, a little bit defensive, when anybody says “the right things.” Yes, I agree with you that the things you enumerate in your second paragraph are worthy and constructive and helpful for long term mortal existence and I would fight for any of them. But if we are to seek to be unified as a people, we must examine our diction carefully so as to be inclusive.
I am an educator and my credibility and experience with social and restorative justice is about as strong as any White man’s is going to be. And yet, as a Democrat, and I was not a Berner, I can look at the liberal elite, and I watched the election closely, and I say that the left got what it earned and deserves in Donald Trump. And education — chiefly the teachers’ unions — got what they earned and deserve in Betsy DeVos. Unions, while necessary in my view to protect workers’ rights, are absolutely corrupt and drunken with political power in their leadership, and seek to enslave their membership. Labor unions in the United States will either change their ways or be destroyed. When Donald Trump called out that union local president at Carrier, he was absolutely correct and went straight for the soft underbelly.
The DNC threw that election to Donald Trump as sure as you and I are sitting here typing to each other. I called it
from the beginning
that HRC was going to be a disaster of a candidate, and my liberal family cried, “But Donald Trump!” and here we are.
Anyhow, I’m with you 100%, but my messaging focuses on other areas.

If the opposite of pro is con, what’s the opposite of progress? :)
The Dems need another Obama like there’s no tomorrow. Too many dopes have been conned by the newly-filled swamp.

I like firearms, but as a people, we seem to be obsessed with the AR-15.

They have helped create the worst time in history. And I see zero end in sight because the Nancy Pelosi people of the world are too deeply intrenched.

That’s the most amusing thing, the deplorables aren’t the only ones who own this shitstorm. And now we have at least 4 more years of living in an Onion story. Sadly, neither side has any history of taking responsibility for their actions.

Imagine if any of the current allegations came out against HrC over the past two or three years... There’d be investigations for years.

They’d never end. And new ones would be brought up within 2 weeks of an election, too.
I’m just glad to know the swamp is being drained, that Russia has no involvement in anything, and that we’re being protected from fake news via alternative facts.
