I milked an extra couple grand out of my boss. My wife and I are looking at a house and the extra couple grand was the difference if we can qualify or not for the mortgage. He made it work and now i’m here. I think this is the best possible outcome. I didn’t want it to be about the money. I told him its the difference between providing for my family the house they should have or not. He’s on board with it.

Good for you! Sounds like you were able to leverage the other offer into something even better, that will make you happier at the end of the day. Happiness >> $.

The way I think about is that my company would fire me in a heartbeat if made business sense to do so. I approach them the same way, I work for money. If you want loyalty, get a dog.

The car in the picture appears to be running, so clearly not a Camaro. :)
