I really like this generation of Mitsubishi Montero. Perfect amount of boxiness with a little bit of round. Up until today, I thought they were only offered with auto transmissions in the US. This one is close by, someone please talk me out of this. “Rare” in this instance certainly has to mean transmission parts are hard to come by.

i imagine that since the 6g7 motor has been used for almost every mitsubishi and a few chryslers, that you can find transmissions for it. Then again, 90% of those are transverse, but the raider and mighty max had the same layout. raiders have a community that might have details. off-roaders are a resourceful bunch.
