Ah, my spirit animal. Does the chav want her number or does he want to insult her? “Shut up you old dog! Are you on your period? ..... Gimme your number, we’ll go out for a drink.”

That is true. In the U.K., helmets are not mandated by law, and the largest cycling organization sees it as a personal choice.

From the thumbnail, I thought there were two cyclists assaulting the truck. One distracting the driver while the other attacked.

In the U.S., helmet requirements are state and/or locally regulated. I haven’t seen a mandate for adult cyclists. Where there are laws, they mandate helmets for kids.
Let’s see, one internet search later....

Yep.
Despite a lack of requirements, many of us have the good sense to wear one anyway.

I didnt say it was wrong.

Yeah, it’s less common in Europe though.
It’s also interesting that apparently helmet laws have a negative effect on public health. Cyclists are a bit safer, but fewer people cycle, so you lose those exercise benefits (I’d expect over time though, ridership would creep back up).

She was seeing red. Good for her!

I bet that was one of the most cathartic things she’s ever done. God damn I bet that felt good.

I’m not sure the takeaway from this video is that she shoulda been wearing a helmet.
![]() 02/22/2017 at 10:43 |

Surprised she didn’t give Mystery the number 1 after all that baller negging.

Neither are you.

That felt good.

Yeah? You’re not wearing a helmet!

More people ride there, so overall public health goes up. Also, due to slower speeds, smarter street designs, and more people riding, the benefits of helmets were reduced.
Personally, I still ride with a helmet

But does it meet CPSC standards? If not you’re basically not wearing one.

yes. obviously. you think I’m an idiot!?

I’m not responding about the “takeaway” from the video. I’m responding to your observation about U.K. helmet requirements in an attempt to give some perspective. U.K. and U.S. attitudes are different regarding helmets, partly because of laws, partly because of the litigation that led to those laws.

It’s not really something you want to be good at, right?
![]() 02/22/2017 at 11:11 |
|
Not really.
![]() 02/22/2017 at 11:18 |

Okay. I’m not sure what relevance US helmet laws have to a UK video, but ... okay.
![]() 02/22/2017 at 11:19 |

Correct, because if you’re good at negging people will call you a negger. _

Thanks for video. Clever bird!
Welcome to public discourse in the US. If there’s an opportunity for the convo to be highjacked to someone’s agenda; well, everything else goes out the window.
( See what I did there? *smh* )
