Did the shocks on the Dakota. All but one were pretty much rusted in place. We started yesterday at one in the afternoon, finished today at one in the afternoon.

Kinja'd!!!

Willing to bet they were the original shocks.

3 0f the 4 had to be cut off of the truck. But damn, it was worth it. It feels like a brand new 1996 Dakota. Took it down Hines Drive (It’s the only “scenic/driving” road in the area) and it felt fantastic. Still need to fix the seatbelts (Can’t use the armrest because I have to buckle it on the passenger side)

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Also, a picture of me and my truck. Yes, I still wear track pants. Yes, I’m aware it’s not 2001 anymore. They’re comfortable.

Kinja'd!!!

So yeah.... How’s your weekend going?

I went and did a 5k, got ankle burn, and then learned that purell is basically pure alcohol after pouring it on my burn, one of my more painful and stupid ideas. At least I know it won’t get infected. Other than that, calm and peaceful.

Autoshow, and then editing autoshow photos. Fun.

Chasing down a power steering leak in the Mustang.

Not hard to find, really. I installed an inline power steering filter a few years back, and that’s were it’s leaking from. But I’m trying to determine how it’s leaking, since it was clamped on securely. The leak is coming from between the two halves of the aluminum housing, so it’s gotta be either a bad O-ring, or it’s just not seating properly for some reason.

I put some of that stuff on a small cut I got on my palm the other day, and I think it would have been less painful to have cut my hand off.

We’ve been to IKEA, an army surplus store so I could look for steel-toe boots, an 80s pop culture boutique, a bakery, and Church’s Chicken for lunch. Now it’ll be off to the doge park with Sophie.

Technically not weekend, but had the joy of replacing springs on mom’s Focus, which isn’t easy when both local part shops had a spring that was toobig/long, and the correct part being for a 1.6 instead of a 2.0 as it is, which i had to buy from the ford dealer who seemed puzzled when i said they apparently had differents springs based on the engine.

How am I spending my weekend?

I wanna say “sleeping, eating, hookers, blow, masturbation and porn”... but the sleeping would be a lie...

Bad I procrastinated on Friday and Saturday because I was tired and exhausted from having the flu and a sinus infection and today has been a lot of trying to catch up by working on a presentation for class that is on Tuesday, the midterm I have on Wednesday and the other project due on Thursday night. I’m so fucked I actually broke down and cried last night and almost had a panic attack

You from the area? Hell, I saw a ‘68 Barracuda, a ‘55 Chevy, an early C3 Vetter (with L88 hood) and countless bikes. It was gorgeous today.

It wouldn’t have done shit. This truck has 267,000 on it and again, I’m willing to bet those were the original shocks.

Nothing is better than a new pair of shocks.

Washed a bunch of cars, then cut up some logs for firewood.the pile was a mess so it took forever figuring out “ok which one won’t spring up into my face”
