Adding a master suite in the back, knocking down a few interior walls... And somehow shoehorning in a third bedroom. Well, if my wife gets what she wants, then I’m getting what I want: a bigger garage and a wider driveway.

This is a poorly-drawn, not-to-scale representation for how I’m envisioning this whole thing:

Yeah, the update on that is we haven’t spoken since but he likes to try to stink-eye me should we both be outside at the same time.

Frankly, I’m quite happy with the situation.

Seconded. Even if you can do the drawings yourself, having a design pro makes a big difference in the quality of the space that you end up with.
