The worst part is that this is Australia, so that tablet cost about a million AUD.

The worlds worst Windows XP tablet. Probably the most dangerous as well.

I do not know how to make any of this and could probably make something that looks less shitty by reading a few instructables, watching a few videos and then running to an electronics store.

I have taught high school freshmen with zero electronics experience how to solder better than this in under 5 minutes.

I would hope so, that just looks disgusting. Also, soldering directly on batteries?! How do they even think that is fine

Soldering directly to the cells is actually more common than you would think. Though if you want to do it properly you use tabs specifically designed for soldering between cells, not this booger soldering wires crap.
This is how you do it properly:

Just because it is #11, I wouldn’t just jump to conclusion that its a production device. Was this ever sold anywhere?

This one found it’s way to a medical equipment supplier in Australia so it is not a prototype.

Wow thanks for the share that was unbelievable. Did get a little worried for the guy when he commented on the touchscreen having a pattern. Its a resistive screen. Super cheap, durable and works while wearing gloves. Literally anything that touches the screen a pen or gloved hand will get a response. Not so uncommon (especially in auto shop bay computers) but are sorta going away these days. Anyway that dude was pretty funny he had the same level of WTF going on that I did. I’ll be checking his stuff out once in a while and maybe this will bump that ever persistent old washing machine guy off my youtube suggestions that never goes away because of the ONE time I followed an oppo down that rabbit hole.

Dave has a lot of good stuff on the different aspects of electronics engineering.

Right after I typed that I remembered tearing apart an old one and them having something like that on them. I would assume the way they did it is more likely to break and takes up way more space.
