I really want to blow 11k$ on this Suzuki Cappuccino now. It’s got the same coloration as my modified Miata. It’s not as cool as the Beat and nowhere near exotic as the awesome AZ-1 but it would be the best garage companion to the Miata besides a RX-7 or an AZ-1. Sadly, I’m still saving up for the the eventual showdown between the Mazda3 and iM for automatic DD duties. Damn you, Torchinsky!

I would love to import a 2CV, but their costs have gone up a lot! :(

$6450 for a 91 Honda beat. No idea if that’s a good deal but it’s been on my local Craigslist for awhile and I want it. So. Bad.

I test drive one ages ago. Lotta fun - just like driving a 3/4 scale Miata. But a very tight fit: I’m 6'1" and I had (just) enough legroom, but I couldn’t see under the windscreen rail. Bought an S13 Nissan instead, in the end: equally fun, different reasons.
God help you if you crash though - kei cars are exempt from most safety regs in Japan, and they’re designed accordingly.

I’m not too worried about safety since I’m running around in a Miata without a rollbar. If I get t-boned in either car I’m a goner no matter what, especially with the proliferation of high-riding CUV/SUV/crossovers that just override (literally) whatever side-impact profile I already have.

It’s all a question of degree. In a Miata if you get T-boned by another car you’re toast. In a Kei car, if you see a bumblebee on a collision course you need to be worried. They’re made of foil, and there’s ZERO crumple zone in any direction.

I used to see a couple of these up to about ten years ago but not any more. Rust will do that for you.

Wow the miles are really low on that. If you have the money you should buy it. If I had the money I would buy it and the Alto RS-X Flavian is putting up for sale soon.
