Voodoo aluminum shift knob with a coating to hopefully make it less painful in the summer.
Weighs a significant portion more than my stock NA shift knob I had and sits even lower for a very short, amazingly communicative throw. I love it.

Nice! I use a glow in the dark billiard style shift knob in my FiST and it stays pretty room temp year round. How’s the coating to hold though?

like, rhino lining type coating?

I like mine a lot, same finish as yours. Still hot in the summer and cold in the winter, but not NEARLY as badly as a leather or shiny metal one.

Yeah. A hard plasticky coating.

I once had a chromium plated, fully illuminated genuine accessory shift knob, but unfortunately, it came right off in my hand as I was transporting a load of chickens thru Colorado.

You wanna screw that thing back on, Earl?

I really like the looks of the Voodoo knobs, but for the price they cost I can get something custom from WC Lathe Werks. Admittedly they don’t have the nice coating, so I usually end up getting Delrin.

I ordered a smooth aluminum one for the Z, has the tree engraved in it. We’ll see how I like it, it’s bigger so it might feel better or worse.

You should have just gotten one of these!

Until they make a knob I like for a price I like, I’ll keep my stock wood Nardi shift knob.

I would have looked for a lighter color. Sure, the metal isnt in direct sunlight now, but the black will just absorb it.

I loved mine. I know I took it off the car when I sold it, but it has gone missing. I still upset that I can’t find it. I’ve searched high and low. :(

Very neutral. Don’t really notice the texture that much, which is a good thing.

Nice. I’ve been enjoying a similar knob (Voodoo Magnum black textured aluminum) in my NC for a few years now. It wound up being lighter than the OEM knob in my case, which I actually prefer (more feel > lower effort IMO). If that’s a different coating, I’d be curious to know how well it might keep the heat down because mine will positively roast a hand if left to sit out under the summer sun. If you run into similar problems, I’ve found that a small kid glove works pretty well for fitting on top of the knob and sparing your hand.

A friend of mine had a titanium shift knob in his WRX. In the winter it would get frost on it; summer you basically needed an oven mitt to change gear.

I’ve had 3-4 VooDoo knobs over the years, I LOVE the damn things. Currently contemplating how to reconfigure my 944 to have a threaded shaft so I can get another one.
