If you ever get to the UK, go to Yorkshire and the Rail Musuem.

Gorgeous locomotive. I often feel like rail museums pay too much attention to old steam engines, creating the impression that nothing worth noting has happened in the past 60 years or so, but it’s hard to argue with a train like that.

This has been my favorite locomotive since I was a kid. I rode behind it a few times with my dad, and I was gutted the day NS dropped their steam program.
When I found out I was able to see it in Greensboro last year, I was ecstatic. Thankfully I got pictures before the trip started, because I missed a prime opportunity to see it leave town due to my own impatience.

Every line is perfect, in fit, form, and function.
