Haven’t checked the link yet but statistics do show abused are more likely going to be abusers. Don’t know that he was but seems like we all inherent some of mom and dad’s traits so this is not too shocking.

Yeah, this seems likely. Doesn’t excuse the son’s crimes though. Does make the fact that abuse was reported to Paterno in 1976 all the more galling. Had things been acted on then, you would have protected a lot of children, and quite possibly prevented this guy from turning out like this.

From all the reasearch I have gathered from the years of experience watching Law&Order SVU, I don’t believe for a second that he wasn’t abused as a child.

My bet is on Jerry, but it could have been someone else.

Just for clarification, and at the risk of appearing nitpicky, the term ‘inherit’ implies genetics, and this guy was adopted (although it doesn’t say that in the OP’s link, I saw it in other articles). Now, I’m certain there’s a link between dear ol’ pop being a pedo, and this guy also being a pedo, but it’s a learned connection, not an inherited one.
