The resonator is gone(round 1), the stock filter was replaced with the Green Filter(Round 2, it really does make a large noise difference), and the muffler is coming off Friday and a 3.5" tip will be added... All for the pursuit of compensating for not being an Abarth.

When you remove muffler do you replace it with a pipe out the back?

I can’t hear you because my car is ever so slightly faster. There will be a car length in 6 miles!!!

Yep, and because the muffler contains the tips, I had to buy a new tip.

in my opinion an open pipe the size of the tubing is the best exhaust tip. I was wondering if people just take off the muffler and let the exhaust pipe reverberate against the floor of the car.

yeah that is also a downside to just taking off the muffler and not making sure it exits out the back.

Is it from the amount of bolts falling to the ground?

There’s also the part of the heat of the exhaust making anything plastic extra-crispy. A friend of mine did that with his ‘01 Miata and ended up losing all remaining flexibility in the rear bumper.

In all seriousness, I am thinking FiST for the next car for me

It’s a fun car, and the top doesn’t have to be replaced! But, unfortunately, the mod bug is beginning to bite. Luckily I’ll only allow myself to add power, after I buy a Quaife LSD. Those are like $2k, installed, so I’ve got a while.

but the top stays in one place so pro/con both ways.

I have owned a lot of fords and the affordability to mod them is so much more appealing than modding the fiat.
