It’s wrecked, but there’s so much I’d like to strip out of there, and I could learn so much from having a parts car to disassemble. The wheels match mine and look to be worth at least $400 and I want the wood and center console.

I’m not entirely sure of the value of ‘99 XJ8's, but $1 seems like a good deal.

Basically, even if it hadn’t been in multiple accidents and had a blown engine, I wouldn’t buy one as an actual driving car for $1, because they had issues up to MY ‘01. But if the price is right, it’s an exact interior and exterior match to mine and I want to do bad, bad, bad things to it.

I’d try to fix the timing issue and have a luxury winter beater.

Eh, for that MY, it would need a $1400 tensioner replacement and new thermostat, and it has a Nikasil engine. It’s worth more parted out.

was about to same the same thing. Tain’t no cheap fixing that. I think we paid $2k for the tensioner replacement back in the day. Car is from the golden era of constant Jag headaches - yes, buy it for parts!
