When is China just going to have enough of this nonsense and cancel his credit cards already? I mean, I know they like having a Stalinist buffer state, but there are plenty of other less wacky dictators they could install in there.

Because China likes having North Korea as a distraction, and the crazier the Kims act the more money the US has to spend bolstering South Korean defenses. Money, troops, planes, and ships that could be better spent in the South China Sea.

My guess would be that this is cheaper than dealing with millions of economic refugees when the NK government collapses, and you get the buffer state thing as a bonus.
