I paid the extra dollar to get the magnetic backing. The finish is great! Quality item for about $15.

The store is called davebarton.com

Recommend them to all our LOLvo driving oppos.

Next, i’ll be getting the center caps for the wheels.

I didn’t bring El Moose to work today but i’ll post pics soon :]

Here are some rad examples from that !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

When I moved to Texas, the Volvo logos on two of my center caps came off (I guess the heat did bad things to the adhesive or something.) I got some cheap Chinese knockoff replacements but haven’t put them on yet, as I’m lazy. Maybe I need to be setting my sights higher, though honestly the stickers are more my style.

ha that’s awesome.

Hopefully it doesn’t attract too much negative attention from Maranello.

I love those logos. I’ve seen them on a Volvo 240 here in Calgary just a couple weeks ago. They look great.

I can see the joke about them, but they really did take off positively and people dig them :]

Funny thing is, my boss was the general manager at Ferrari of Houston for many years. On their Risi Competizione Volvo semi trucks, both front Volvo logos were replaced by Ferrari prancing horse logos by him.

He also does some custom work. I asked if he could make up a prancing moose logo with VOLVORD on it and they came out great.

My C30 came with the magnetic versions (you rock previous owner) and let me tell you, it’s so worth that extra $1. And they still look like stickers so no one (by me) messed with em.

Be ready for lots of weird looks at lights. Lots of pointing. Even questions at gas stations.

Congrats EL_ULY you get my oppo/front page contribution today. I can’t post to the front page because kinja. I can’t post to Oppo because the mods are tyrants and won’t approve my burner account even though it’s the only one I use.

So a couple weeks ago the question was “worst car advice.” My wife works with someone who is getting their engine repaired. Her husband told her “you don’t need to change the oil every 3 months/3,000 miles (technically true depending on the oil) “just wait until the oil light comes on.”

Near misses. I have two

One lane wooden bridge 15 years old during drivers ed. I didn’t take it with the public school which meant we went out on actual roads for training. It was raining. We were miles from anywhere but it was the fall and the drive was pretty scenic (which I definitely didn’t care about at the time). I was literally creeping over this one lane bridge in a huge rainstorm and I felt the back end slide out. Inside I freaked out. My heart skipped many beats. To this day it is a higher power that straightened that car out because I did nothing (which was very likely the mostly correct action).

Somewhere in my mid 20's I’m driving a David Tracy special. A 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with a big V8. Doing about 40mph on a country road in a straight line when i crest over a slight rise and someone pulls out of one of the two driveways in a 2 mile stretch of road. I narrowly avoid them, but because of the road conditions at that spot (black ice) I’m doing my best figure skating impersonation (720 minimum and probably 1080) and end up facing the way I was going with just my right rear tire on the shoulder. If there had been any oncoming traffic I probably would have been OK. As for what I did to control the spin and stop the car? No idea.

I saw a guy recently with an early 90s wagon, complete with a metal version in the grille (plus the sides and tailgate). It looked really professional, not sure if it’s the same guy or if he has a copyright on it...

As far as winter weather driving tips, I have non since that season doesn’t really exist where Istay lol. Random losses of traction as what I feel car enthusiasts naturally know how to handle over non car folk. Having a feel of the vehicle and how to manage it is always key in dry and wet. The “feel” will be second nature.

Every vehicle has a different service interval. According to the manufacturers, it does really fall between what comes first, mileage or time. As far as the light, if you have to change the battery at any one point, it may reset the timer. Also, some cars get their oil change done early without the light being on. A couple thousand miles pass and it comes on. People say that they just did an oil change a couple months ago and simply just reset the light. Not you have X number of miles PLUS the miles until the light comes on. That’s no bueno.

Been looking at these for my 9-3 for a while, but could never find the Saab versions. After seeing your post I finally spent some time digging around on his website and made a purchase! Super excited...
