It looks like a snowplow attachment but not quite sure.
Edit: I’m an idiot. It’s a tow bar.

Tow bar

Ahhh that makes way more sense.

So you can pull it with your RV.

Is it not an RV towing bracket so you can pull your car behind an RV safely.

RV tow rig. Unusual car for it, but not at all unusual. About 1 in 5 Saturns sold eventually had these.

Eventually? You could order it from the factory with one.

Now I desperately want to see someone with a snow plow on a Fit.

It’d be so much better if it was a snow plow attachment.

That’s what I was thinking.

I feel like most of them are front wheel drive cars

It’s cause you could tow Saturn flat, with most cars you had to get the driven wheels off the road.

Not all cars can be flat towed. Used to be a selling point for Saturn.

That surprises me a bit. I would expect it with the Wrangler, though.

My friend and I once discussed at length how a lightweight plow could potentially be made to work on a car.
We figured you could cut a large plastic barrel in half to make the plow blade. Obviously you’d need a metal structure to tie back to the car chassis under the bumper. A small electric motor running a winch could raise up the plow.
Such a rig probably wouldn’t stand up to the punishment of moving feet of snow, but might be okay for scraping a couple of inches of snow off a driveway.

Who cares if it works? As long as it embarrasses the kid in the car pool lane.
