It rained a lot this last few days, so I’m guessing one of them drowned. Please advise.

Hopefully if it dries out in the next few days they will start working again...that being said, if there was a short, you may have a problem. Check for blown fuses first maybe?
Until you can get it sorted, I’ve heard there is a parking sensor on a swivel located on the neck of every driver that allows the judging of distance based on a stereo occular system with depth perception? :P

Not working at all? Or they flip out and do mad stuff? If you don’t get the initial beep when you chuck it in reverse it’s probably the switch or a fuse.

I guess you’ll be parking the old fashioned way!

If one of them drowned the rest would still work but you’ll see a black spot on the screen.

Not working at all, the front and rear parking sensors. When I chuck it in reverse or press the parking sensor button it does the “failure” beeps and the Parking Sensor light starts flashing.

Not working at all, it doesn’t even go into the parking sensor screen, the front and rear parking sensors. When I chuck it in reverse or press the parking sensor button it does the “failure” beeps and the Parking Sensor light starts flashing.

Time to mindlessly back into things I guess.

Trade it in for a Honda?

Sounds like more than a sensor or sensors but more like the electronics of either the module or a connection between the switch and the module.
Check the fuses and connectors where possible, if nothing obvious then you may need an auto electrician or see your VW dealer.

Fuck, nearly backed into a parking pole thing before realising the sensors went kaputt (good thing it had a foam cushion), now I’m scared of hitting anything lower than the hatch window.

The damned sensors on mine pick up anything taller than three inches, which means backing up to a kerb sets them off nine or so inches before you get to them so I have to make doubly sure each time regardless.

you will be fine. learn the size of your car and dont rely on technology

OK, like, I know I’m old and everything, but do you really *need* those things?
Try parallel parking your dad’s old Volkswagen bus without lol. Hell, that thing didn’t even have electronic *ignition.* Your VW is easier to park —that’s a promise
That said — if it’s annoying because things are supposed to work, and these aren’t, that makes sense. Other than that, jeez...imho as an above-average driver you already know how far out your corners are whether they beep at you or not. Right??
Now, get off my lawn!! :D

Sure, next I’ll send a fax when my phone runs out of charge.

A thing on my car is broken, I paid for the car, therefore I want it to work properly.

That...that makes sense. Please say you don’t need sensors in order to park tho

Not really, but they do help when living in a 11 million people city with a 190in barge.
