I’m not a fan of the Civic but the Tourer looks great.
Then I came across this just now.
It’s from a year ago.
They took the running gear from a Civic Type R and put it in the tourer. Nice.
There’s nothing cooler than a fast estate car. Once you get behind the wheel of a rapid wagon, everything else on the road suddenly seems irrelevant. A view the guys at the endurance team Synchro Motorsport clearly share, because they’ve built the ultimate ‘hot wagon’, transplanting the FK2 Civic Type R’s running gear into a Civic Tourer. Brilliant.
Everything from the hatch has been transplanted into the Tourer including the Type R’s suspension, Brembo brakes, six-speed gearbox and 2.0 litre, 306bhp VTEC Turbo engine. Aesthetically the car has also been tweaked, with the Tourer receiving the Hatch’s aggressive front bumper, flared wheel arches, side skirts and huge rear diffuser.

The finished result looks absolutely stunning, reminiscent of the iconic 2014 BTCC Honda Touring car. In fact the Type R Tourer looks almost factory, which in a way, it kind of is. Synchro Motorsport is officially supported by Honda, through its Swindon factory ‘Honda of the UK Manufacturing’. Even the team’s lead driver, Alyn James, is an employee of the plant, making this car virtually production spec.
Nice, sort of a road going version of the 2014 BTCC vehicle.
I love the rear boot space.
Rear seat utilisation.

The Civic Touring and the Subaru Levorg are two of my favorite BTCC cars.

I mean, it’s basically an Impreza wagon so it has to end up modified at some point.
